Video

Video starts with your goal, not a price list

No two businesses want the same thing from a video, so we do not sell one-size-fits-all packages. We work backward from the result you want, then build a custom quote around it. That way your budget goes toward a clear business goal, not just footage that looks nice.

The cheapest video can cost the most if it does not get your message across. Tell us what you are planning and we will show you what it takes to get there.

Three questions we ask first

1What problem should this video solve?
2Who needs to see it for your business to grow?
3What should they do the moment it ends?

Overview

Letting customers see who they are dealing with

Real images build trust

Stock photos are easy to spot, and visitors tend to scroll right past them. When every image on a site could belong to any company, the business behind it feels anonymous. Business photography and video fix that by showing the actual people, workplace and products or projects. A customer deciding between two Canadian suppliers they have never met will often lean toward the one that shows its face. Original visuals also help visitors imagine working with you, which is frequently the moment a casual browse becomes an enquiry. On top of that, they give your social channels honest material to post instead of borrowed images.

A shot list for every page

Good visuals start with knowing where each one will go. We review your current site, or the design for a new one, and write a shot list page by page: a broad banner image at the top of the home page, matching portraits for the team section, products on a consistent background, or completed projects captured from a flattering angle. Video stays short and purposeful, such as a quick welcome, a tour of your premises or a product demonstration. A shot list keeps the session focused and stops you paying for footage nobody uses. Shoot logistics are agreed during planning, and we can also work from photos or clips you already own.

Editing and optimization after the shoot

The work after the shoot counts just as much as the shoot. Images are colour-corrected and cropped so they look like one set, given descriptive alt text and exported in modern formats at the sizes each layout needs. Video is compressed and embedded so the rest of the page loads first. If you have a drive full of past photos, we sort through it, choose the strongest shots and prepare them for the web. Our Calgary head office handles planning and editing for clients across the country. Visual projects are priced individually and slot neatly into a new build or a redesign.

Who it suits

Who benefits most from original visuals

Owner-operators, expanding companies and established Canadian firms begin at the same point: understanding how their buyers look, compare and choose.

Health and wellness practices

New clients want to see the treatment room and the practitioner before booking. Real photos make a first appointment feel familiar.

Food and drink businesses

Fresh shots of plates, drinks and the room persuade far more than a written menu description.

Builders, makers and trades

Finished work, workshops and craftsmanship are evidence of quality that a stock library cannot supply.

Product sellers online

Accurate, uniform product images give shoppers the confidence to order and reduce questions and returns.

How it works

How a Visual Content Project Runs

  1. Step 1

    Write the Shot List

Every image and clip each page needs is listed, with sizes and orientation.

  2. Step 2

    Plan the Session

People, products, locations and style are agreed so the shoot goes smoothly.

  3. Step 3

    Edit as a Set

Photos and clips are colour-matched and cropped into one consistent set.

  4. Step 4

    Compress and Publish

Files are optimized, labelled with alt text and added to your site and social profiles.

Why us

Why visuals belong in the website plan

Shot with the layout in mind

Because we also design the pages, each image is planned knowing beforehand which page, crop and screen it is destined for.

Speed tested after upload

Every file is compressed and checked for page speed once it is uploaded, so visuals never drag a page down.

Existing material reviewed first

Your current photo and video library gets reviewed first, so new work only fills real gaps.

Priced per project

Visual work gets a fixed quote up front, worked out from the shot list and the editing involved.

FAQ

Photo & Video: questions & answers

Short answers to what clients ask us most. Tap a question to see our answer.

Have a different question?Write to us and the answer comes from the people who would build your site.

How much do photo and video cost?

Two Trees Studio

Every project depends on its size, so most are quoted individually. Local commercial photography is a fixed $790 for a two-hour shoot, including editing and image optimization for the web, plus applicable tax.

How should we get ready for a photo session?

Two Trees Studio

Tidy the areas that will appear in the frame, confirm who will be photographed and make sure products are clean and labelled. Plain, solid colours usually photograph better than busy patterns for portraits. We send the shot list beforehand so everyone knows the plan, the session stays brief and your staff and customers are barely interrupted.

Will new photos and video slow down my website?

Two Trees Studio

Not if they are prepared properly. Images are exported at the dimensions the layout uses, in formats such as WebP, and those lower on the page are lazy-loaded. Videos are compressed, and where possible a light preview image loads first, with the full clip fetched only when someone presses play. We test page speed again after adding visuals.

Can you improve photos taken on a phone?

Two Trees Studio

Often, yes. Recent phones take good pictures in decent light, and editing can correct colour, straighten lines and crop for the layout. Where a shot is too dim or out of focus to save, we will tell you. Many businesses settle on a mix: casual phone pictures on social accounts, with a planned set reserved for the key website pages.

Who owns the finished photos and video?

Two Trees Studio

Usage rights are written into the project quote before work starts, so you know where the files can be used, whether on the website, social media or in print. Typically the goal is for your company to use the finished files freely in its own promotion. If you have special uses such as packaging or broadcast ads, mention them early.

Does a small company really need professional photos?

Two Trees Studio

In most cases, yes, at least for the pages visitors see first, like the home, about and main service pages. A modest set of planned, original pictures changes how credible a site looks. A huge archive is unnecessary. A focused list that covers your people, premises and day-to-day work is usually enough for the website and plenty of social posts too.

Can we add new photos after the website launches?

Two Trees Studio

Yes. Many sites go live with borrowed or older images and replace them later with original photography. We already know the exact slot each picture fills, so the swap is simple. New files are prepared at the right dimensions and uploaded with fresh alt text and descriptive file names.
