Overview
Moving a website looks simple until something goes missing: images still loading from the old server, email that stops arriving because a DNS record was overlooked, or years of search rankings lost because old addresses now return errors. Website migration is the work of preventing those surprises. A move might mean switching to a better host, rebranding to a new domain, consolidating several sites into one, or leaving a platform like Wix or Squarespace for WordPress. Each type carries its own risks, and the common thread is planning: knowing exactly what exists today before anything is copied, switched or deleted.
We begin with an inventory. That covers every page and file, the database, forms and integrations, mailboxes that use the domain, DNS records, SSL certificates and any third-party scripts. For moves that change URLs, we export the full list of current addresses and build a redirect map so each old page points to its closest new equivalent. The site is then copied to the new environment and checked on a temporary URL, covering forms, checkout, search and logins. Only after everything works do we switch DNS, ideally at a quiet time for your business, with record lifetimes lowered in advance so the change spreads quickly.
After launch, the job is not done until the new setup is verified. We check redirects, keep an eye on Search Console for crawling problems, submit the updated sitemap and confirm that email is flowing. If the domain has changed, we use the change of address tool in Search Console so Google understands the move. A WordPress to WordPress move is $290, and moves from other platforms are priced by the number of pages, as listed on this page. Many businesses combine a move with managed hosting or a care plan starting at $69 a month, so the site is looked after once it arrives. We run migrations from our Calgary head office for clients across Canada.

What's included
Details vary from one business to the next, yet each project covers the points listed here. Extras are quoted in writing before any work on them begins.
Who it suits
Owner-operators, expanding companies and established Canadian firms begin at the same point: understanding how their buyers look, compare and choose.
Sluggish servers and unresponsive support are common reasons to move, and better hosting often fixes more than any plugin.
A new name and domain need every old address redirected so customers and search engines follow along.
Businesses on Wix or Squarespace that need more control often move to WordPress.
When two websites become one, content and redirects need careful planning to keep both audiences.
How it works
Pages, files, database, email, DNS and integrations are recorded before anything moves.
Old addresses are matched to new ones so visitors and search engines land correctly.
The site is rebuilt in its new home and checked on a temporary URL.
DNS is changed, then redirects, email and Search Console are checked after the move.
Why us
Building, hosting and relocating sites since 2011 has shown us where moves usually trip up.
Your new site is checked on a temporary address before visitors are sent to it.
Mail records and DNS settings are part of the plan, not an afterthought.
WordPress moves are $290, and moves from other platforms are priced by page count, so you know the cost upfront.

A careful migration keeps any dip small and temporary. The main risks come from old URLs breaking without redirects, content being dropped during the move, or the new site loading slower than the old one. A complete redirect map, matching content and a check in Search Console afterwards protect most of what you have built. Changing domains carries more risk than changing hosts.
It should not, as long as email is part of the plan. Mail often depends on DNS records that are easy to overlook, especially when mailboxes sit with the same company as your website. We record every mail-related setting before the switch, and if the mailboxes themselves need to move, we schedule that separately so messages are not lost.
Yes, although it is closer to a rebuild than a direct transfer. Those platforms do not export a complete working site, so we recreate the design in WordPress, carry over the text and images, and set up redirects from the old page addresses. The upside is a site you fully own and can host anywhere, with far more control over SEO and features.
Ideally not at all. The new copy is built and tested while the old one stays live, and the DNS switch simply sends visitors to the new server. For a short period some visitors may still see the old site while DNS updates spread. Stores and membership sites need a brief content freeze around the switch so no orders or sign-ups are lost.
A WordPress to WordPress move is $290. Moving from Wix, Square or another platform to WordPress is $490 for up to 10 pages or $900 for up to 20 pages. Moving from any platform to PHP is $490 for up to 5 pages or $800 for up to 10 pages. Larger sites get a written quote before any work starts. Email migration is extra and priced per mailbox: $70 under 2 GB, $250 up to 10 GB and $400 up to 50 GB.
Access to your current hosting account, the company where your domain is registered and any mail provider linked to it, plus the website admin login. If you are unsure where your domain or email is registered, we can help trace it. It is also useful to know of any busy periods to avoid, so the final switch happens at a quiet time.
